False short signtness/psudomyopia in children

Has anyone heard of the Cycloplegic test? This is a test that rules out being falsely dignoised with myopia. Apparently 50% of children are falsely diagnosed with myopia so I would like to get this ruled out beforehand. With Psudomyopia there is no change in the eyeball, therefore it is not permanent and requires different treatment than myopia.Has anyone had this test? If so where could I get this for my child? I cant seem to find and opticians that preform this.My child's blurry vision is not everytime so it is possibly Psudomyopia and I dont want her to be misdiagnosed. Thanks in advance.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I’ve just had my DS tested through normal test but his eye sight suggested a strong deterioration from normal to -1, -1.25 in both eyes in over only 3 months. I’ve read up this cyclopletic test and after wrestling with the optician and have now booked him in to
do that in few weeks time.

did you manage to book one and would you mind sharing what your results? Was it pseudomyopia?

Did you get to the bottom of this @WhatIsPink

I pushed the optician to do the dilation test but unfortunately nothing changed. Guess it is what it is. He’s wearing glasses but we are doing those myopia control lenses, so will see what happens

Same with my child. How old is you child? 3 months is a quick progression. We too are using myopia control.

He is nearly 7. After lots of reading, it could be that he’s prone to myopia given his race and parents being myopia. His eyeball length is long for his age, it probably was ticking time bomb. My only hope is he can keep his prescription under control and progress rapidly. Have you had any reviews since wearing the glasses?
