Sounds like the D&V are making him dehydrated, how old is he?
Could he tolerate small sips of water do you think. Poor you and your DS

Yes does sound like he is dehydrated, how long has he had the D&V? How old is he?
You need to concentrate on getting small amounts of fluid into him as often as poss.

Poor little thing

If the D&V persist and he can't keep sips of water down, you may need to think about going to hospital as he may need some IV fluids to tide him over.

Poor little chap. Plain water may be easier for him to keep down than juice.
The diahorrea probably making him sore too
I wouldn't bother trying with food either.
Hope he feels better soon.

estimo · 15/06/2008 08:24

Oh poor you like you haven't got enough to worry about! He may perk up a bit later
Hope it's a sunny day for you today.

poor thing - I had this exact thing the other day; it did only last 24 hours so there's hope it won't be long.

If he can't keep plain water down (in tiny sips) get some dioralyte and see if he'll keep that down - if there's a gap between drinking and spewing, he'll have absorbed some water so he won't dehydrate so rapidly... keep checking on him though of course and go to hospital if it deteriorates (my cousin's DH was admitted with dehydration for the same bug)

Hope he improves soon, poor mite

lewisfan - many thanks for posting. ds seems to be better this afternoon. He is still clingy and grouchy but he did manage to drink without puking and even managed about 4 quavers. it is a horrid but and I hope that dd doesn't get it next - she has a phobia about vomiting!
