Toys for 10 month old

Any recommendations?

I'd like to get my LO some new toys, but unsure what is good for this age. I went into Mamas and Papas the other day, but was a bit disappointed with the selection.

He can crawl and is pulling to stand if I help him. He loves taking things out of boxes, enjoys busy books/boards.

I recently gave him a box filled with random crap bits and bobs from round the house, which he loves. I'd love to get him some new things, but struggling to find much.

An activity cube or push-along walker with activities on the front? Lots available secondhand.

The four pop up people in a wooden block were also a favourite, and the hide and squeak eggs.

Simple things like stacking cups or blocks are good. Books with flaps to open

One of those push along walkers with the blocks in? Baby Einstein do some good toys. My little one had the activity table and the music one. Wooden toys are usually better because they last much longer than the plastic stuff

Definitely look for some second hand toys - check for an NCT near you b/c they often have 2nd hand sales. In my area there's 'I need a whisk'

DD1 loved a basket full of bits & bobs - jar lids were a hit.

My 10mo mainly likes Tupperware lids, slippers and eating big siblings’ books/art/stickers. Not so interested in his blocks or stacking rings... Strong puppy vibes with this one.

Thank you! We have a few of these things, so maybe he's all good for now. I havent seen the block with pop up people, I'll have a look for that. 😊
Wooden toys are the best, we love Little Dutch and have some Baby Einstein wooden musical toys.

Aww 😆 my LO loves my slippers too, thinks they're hilarious for some reason 😅

An activity table was a LIFE saver for us. I think it was a baby Einstein one, it had lights, buttons to push and little cogs he could spin etc etc. And it provided a lot of entertainment as he loved standing but couldn't walk properly until 11 months. We also got a water table (it was summer and warm).

We are just after Christmas, loads of people will have had Christmas clearouts to make way for new stuff. Look around the charity shops and look on Facebook market place.

And I wouldn't worry too much about wooden vs plastic, even plastic stuff esp at that age will be outgrown long before its worn out.

Although one thing I would think especially if you are thinking towards 1st birthday, a Scooter / ride on, mini micro or globber, is great for that age.

Or a wheelie bug for inside.

My son loved a ball drop toy at that age, mini rocking horse he also had a car steering wheel, we also had a ball /sandpit and tunnel for outside too (which he still loves).
He also started to enjoy paints and baking (well making rice crispy cakes), we also had a bubble machine and lots of different sized balls.
in terms of smaller toys, he had enjoyed toy food/cups, music toys like drums/ maracas and the magnetic smartmax toys. Essentially anything he could climb, crawl or pull apart/throw/drop/mix and make a noise with!
the favourite was the ball drop one though
it was a little tykes starfish and made a noise when you dropped the ball in, but he could stand up against it (not walking yet) so he’d need to bend and pick the ball up and drop it in whilst holding with one hand. DSIS has just taken it for her 6 month old as DS loved it so much (only toy she’s taken).
