How much screen time do you have a day?

I made a post asking about how much screen time your kids have, well I’ve been listening to Jamie Glowaki’s podcast “Oh Crap with Jamie” and she’s talking about screen time for parents

Mine in total is anything between 4-5 hours per day… I don’t get to watch tv at the moment because my baby keeps having false starts so all my screen time is on my phone for me to look at

Please share and try to refrain from judging (if you have an iPhone your screen time is under settings)

It really varies. Anything from a hour a day to 6-7 hours but I watch tv/movies on my phone in bed.

Mine is less than 2 hours.

Well my TV is on all day in the background but I'm on my phone a fair bit researching stuff. Was it phone screen time you meant?

I've just spent my entire working day WFH staring at a computer screen (except lunchtime) and will no doubt watch Bridgerton tonight on TV and will be on my phone so i'll probably have about 12h of screentime. My phone use is the least of it.

Tv on all day in back ground while I’m at home. Work at a computer screen while I am working. So probably pretty much 24/7 excluding when I’m asleep.
eta obvs not while driving, out & about, shopping or cooking (although sometimes reading a eclipse on phone)

I think it matters more the type of content they watch than how long, of course you want to keep it at a reasonable length, but I think these new shows and cartoons are so flashy and overstimulating, they really mess up with their attention spans at a very young age. Whenever I need something I try first to find a safe show at least.

I totally agree. A lot of the content out there today is unregulated in terms of safety. Kids are able to view content that algorithms show to maximise view time and it is not concerned about quality. If the child likes high contrast, flashy content and view once or twice then the child is fed more of the same. It is massive algorithm vs child. Something needs to be done!
