Weight percentiles

Am I being paranoid or is this normal?
my daughter lost quite a bit of weight at birth took 2 weeks to get back to birth weight (we had to wake her every 3 hours for milk formula fed) the HV saw her quite regularly up until the 16th December because she was happy with her weight gain, I’ve weighed her twice my self now and she’s gain but still slowly dropping on her percentile line, is this normal?
I’ve rang the HV help line to plot it on her chart and they said she’s following the 9th centile line but according to this she’s dropping every time I’m getting her weighed.

I know I should trust the HV but I’m just over thinking everything

Both of mine dropped centiles compared to where they were born, so I've been down this path. With that pattern, there is a very good chance she is following her new centile, and the very small changes you're seeing are down to little variations in when she last fed, when she last had a wet nappy, etc.

On the other hand, yes, the percentages are trending downwards, so I'd get her weighed again at four months just to check the pattern (that was the HV advice for mine) – but really try not to worry too much in the meantime as long as she's bright and alert, plenty of wet and dirty nappies, no signs of bad reflux, etc.

2-3 weeks to get back to birth weight is normal especially when they lost ~10% and having to wake for feeds is usual in my experience. Both of mine lost 5-6% and took 15 days to get back to birth weight gained ~3% every 5 days

Remember when looking at percentile changes is the band's not the exact values and you don't take the birth weight. This looks like they dropped one percentile whilst regaining birth weight and have since been following the 9-25th percentile. They don't follow a perfect line and it's typical for them to bounce around a bit. It doesn't hurt to get the HV to monitor weight for a bit longer though. How have you been weighing her yourself?
