If you use of course! Would you recommend?

I struggled with nighttime ones...so used disposables at night.

Oh to echo what someone said above, we rented a newborn nappy kit (it was 20 small Sandy’s and wraps I think?) to cover the first three months before moving to the next size up (which we’d already purchased secondhand). I also find fitted one size nappies better than BTP. They’re slimmer as well. We used to have to go one size up from our son’s trousers (he was in BTP) but leggings for our daughter seem to fit for longer.

Used them for both my babies, the first from 6 months and the second from a few days after birth. I loved them. I really noticed the difference with my second - they contain newborn poo in a far superior way to plastic nappies, so I very rarely dealt with whole change of clothes situations. Cloth wipes are also an immensely superior product. My OH - who wasn't really bothered by cloth for the environmental benefits - got really annoyed when we went on holiday once by having to use plastic wipes. They are nasty and don't do the job properly.

I think the important thing is to focus on getting the right fit and material and not getting swayed by pretty patterns (and avoid microfibre!). Read up and educate yourself about the different materials you need for day and night and see what brands are consistently well rated. Things have moved on a little since I finished using them a few years ago, but I found a Little Lamb cotton nappy plus a Motherease wrap to be an absolute bombproof combo for the day. For newborn, I loved the close pop-in newborn nappies - you may find some secondhand (but basically new) for next to nothing. The fit was amazing between newborn and about 4 months. Facebook groups will be your best source of info.

Very easy, no problems at all. It was great always having nappies there and available. I wish more people would use them.

I used them and my offspring never got nappy rash. I had lots of quality cotton ones. I quickly established a routine.

I used liners & emptied solids down the loo.
I thoroughly rinsed & soaked until I had enough of a load with other items.

I washed baby with a flannel & water with baby soap. I never ever used baby wet wipes. If I went out I took nappies & flannel in a plastic bag with me. Worked a treat. It takes discipline and organisation but I recommend it.

Cloth for all six of mine but I hated the pre folded cool ones! Old school squares offer so much more flexibility on how to fold for the appropriate wee/poo ratio 😂
