Cold turkey dummy method 6 months

My son uses it for naps and sleeping but it’s just starting to cause more issues with him waking up at night and playing with it then getting upset. I know some suggest having loads of dummies scattered in the cot but because he plays with them, this won’t help us. I just wanted to hear your experiences of going colds turkey at this age, how rough was it? : / did it work?

This is really common with babies who use dummies at 6 months. It's a phase and they grow out of it quickly.

I wouldn't worry about dummy weaning until after a year, particularly if it's used for sleep, which has SID protective qualities too.

i went cold turkey with both of mine at about 5 months and 4 months. I expected it to be hell, but it wasn't with either. They adjusted almost immediately. It made day time settling a box harder, but made the world of difference for night time sleep. Plus I also knew I didn't want my children to be long term dummy users, so it was the best option for us.
