Fleece wraps not working! Am I doing something wrong?

I have always used PUL wraps with ds3 but decided to get a Tots Bots fleece wrap for ds4. Within half an hour his vest and babygro are wet. Granted the wrap itself feels nice and dry but surely the clothes should stay dry too?

If his vest is tight or he's sitting they will leak, or his nappy might not be that absorbant. I find them useful for naps or hot weather when you don't want to put anything on them but a tshirt. Have you tried wool?

popper vest often the culprit - loose pj trousers work better

I used them during the day fine, just need loose clothing.

Wool is fabulous though

fleece works by allowing moisture to wick through and evaporate away. If you have clothes between then surely it will wick away into those? Much prefer PUL

I'm sure lots of people will disagree but I thought fleece wraps were utterly useless!! I bought two (can't remember the makes now but I do know I asked for lots of advice and bought the most recommended ones), I used them at night. No popper vest, at the time DD2 was in a baby bundler (one of those nightdress type things that draw string under the feet) and sleeping bag, but every morning for the week I tried them the sleeping bag and cot sheet were damp and horrid. I tried extra boosting but it just got silly so I went back to PUL (used the next size up from day time, so good accomadation of fat night time nappy) and never looked back.

mine were crap and leaked, i gave up

Well, he does wear a popper vest so that's probably the main reason but I would have expected to get more than half an hour. Oh well....

Solved! Took off the popper vest and now leak free!

I never use a popperd vest with any of my boys fitteds or pockets - they are just a recipe for disaster for me.
