What worked for baby wind?

If your baby had bad wind in the night, can I ask what actually worked for you and made it better?

I remember with my first we didn’t realise that wind was normal, so we assumed she was struggling with the milk. We gave her lactose free milk & the wind stopped instantly. Looking back, she definitely didn’t have a lactose intolerance, but it 100% worked putting her on a different milk.

I’m breastfeeding this time, so a bit different. I’ve bought some Infacol but have read that some babies get bunged up with it and that it can cause constipation etc. It seems like there’s no easy fix.

Can you tell me what worked for you?

Fennel tea for me (breastfeeding) and ultimately goats milk

A combination of Infacol and gripe water for us, and finding what worked to burp…the position / technique was different for each child

Winding technique - tiger in a tree pose. Once I got the hang of this our kids didn’t need infacol or similar (I know different kids react differently of course). But this was transformative for us.

I tried loads of different things but with hindsight I suspect mine just grew out of it regardless of what I did or didn't do.

Watching with interest, as I appear to still be dogged by this problem and I'm 'grown-up' now.

Today I limited myself to just three brussels sprouts but feel some bubbling which usually precedes an episode. So to paraphrase Captain Oates "I may need to go outside and could be some time,"

Winding for much longer than I thought I needed to. I thought they needed to burb, but I realised I had to keep going until their legs were soft and floppy. If they feel stiff at all there’s still wind.

Gripe water worked well for my daughter and keep her uoright after feeds.

rubbing their back with their tummy on your shoulders, rocking slightly as you do it, worked every time

What signs do they have @Dulcie6? Generally speaking BF babies don’t need to be winded. If yours does, have you tried the Tiger in the Tree?
