thanks!

Wash all bedding and towels.

Take the second dose in two weeks (or whatever it is).

It’ll be absolutely fine.

Thanks! Would you wash all bedding? As in mine (even though I’ve not (yet) seen I have them)?

one thing I’m thinking is child sleeps in sleep sack so can’t scratch even if he tried

We have dealt with these since my daughter has been at school. For under 2s you need a prescription for the doctor as you all need to be treated. Wash all towels and sheets on a hotter wash (at least 60) every day for a few days. Good advice on NHS website.

Wash all bedding on a hot wash today. Clean PJ's every night for 6 weeks and a new towel every night for the 2 weeks of medication.

For the baby who can't take medication, new PJ's and towel for 6 weeks. And wash hands very well when changing/toileting.

That reminds me wash bottom and change pants in the morning as well and the pjs. Definitely NHS website advice.

Also, wet-dust all common touch points like banisters and door handles. Pain in the arse but you have to break the recontamination cycle (infected fingers in mouths).

My 4mo has always got hands in her mouth so I’m really worrying she will get it. I assume she will😭 but I haven’t seen anything yet. Would you suggest going to dr for her? I don’t know what I can do for her I feel like she’s a sitting duck and nothing can be done!

We had my little one treated as you should all be treated together (even if no evidence). Doctor will happily prescribe so you can do this. We never saw any evidence either and ours is the same re hands and toys but guess we can only take all the precautions. Highly recommend NHS website for advice.

I’ll speak to dr tomorrow for an appointment but does it make a difference that she will then have had over a few days after all of us? I guess if I haven’t seen anything in her poo it’s ok?

I am not sure. Ours was under a day different as I treated my eldest who had them straight anyway and had to get it prescribed for myself as breastfeeding and for my youngest as under 2. I would perhaps say take the second dose as a precaution altogether.

Questioningthingz · 21/12/2025 15:59

Also sorry, a double reply, but my older child sleeps in a sleep sack so cannot get to his bum even if he tried. I assume this helps significantly reduce risk of reinfection? Will still take all precautions and take tablet 2 weeks after we initially did.

Oops I am BF and just blindly took it!

No idea, my youngest sleeps in a sack but eggs can be anywhere on surfaces hence all the cleaning precautions. Had no idea how my little one had no evidence of them!

Glad they managed to avoid it and hoping the same happens here!

Did you also get them?

OP posts:

No evidence anyone else had them but my eldest has ended up with them twice! So second time we took the two lots of tablets and we know what to keep an eye out for now. Apparently you don’t necessarily see them- I only saw one wriggling near her bottom and never could see any in her poo etc.

Questioningthingz · 21/12/2025 16:04

Ugh it is just horrible isn’t it. Thanks for the info anyway
