Heat rash?

Hi all,

My 2 year old occasionally gets this rash across her shoulders/back. Mums instinct tells me heat rash (no new foods or anything like that) as it starts out like mild prickly heat for a couple of days (in which I try to contain it) but then seems to erupt. It first came when we were abroad this year which again tells me heat rash, and this time round she has been wearing a lot of knitted jumpers/tracksuits/coats due to the time of year so obviously getting hot due to the layers.

My only concern is that it always sticks around for bloody ages. I am able to clear it with a strict bath and skin regime but she needs an antihistamine a couple of times a day for a while to stop her itching it and the ONLY thing that seems to soothe it is Sudocrem. Have tried everything in the past (camomile, bepanthen etc.) but have only found they aggravated it (something about camomile makes her very upset as well so I won’t use it)

Eventually it does clear like I say but the last one flared up and down for a month or two in the Summer. GP checked it and no infection - she said carry on what I’m doing.

I just wonder if anyone else has had this with their little one. I know heat rash is super common but I mean where it stays for a few weeks/month on and off.

Here is a pic

Yeah we live in a hot country and DS gets that exact rash. We found changing clothes frequently (at least 2 shirts per day) and some shirtless air time when we come in from outside keeps it very well at bay.

Doc gave us a hydrocortisone cream at the beginning when it was super bad but it's to be used very sparingly.
