has anyone had any success in fixing this? My poor LO has had this for the last 3-4 months. We’ve been to the gp three times - canesten, fuicidin and antibiotic (oral and cream) nothing has worked. Any cream seems to upset her and she wants it off so it must be stinging - she will tolerate creams elsewhere so it’s not her being awkward.
i haven’t changed anything in terms of detergents/bath things and there hasn’t been any new foods that I believe she’s allergic to (though I don’t know for sure). She did have a dummy which I thought was causing this so I got rid of them but no difference.

My son had this from using his inhaler mask. In the end the thing that got rid of it was a couple of months using metranizadole cream and Protopic ointment but we had to see a specialist dermatologist to get him on the right thing- the GP was pretty limited with their knowledge on it and prescribed all the wrong things that made it flare up sadly. I hope it gets sorted for her, bless her!

DF’s eldest had this and it turned out that she was using baby wipes to clean their face after food. She stopped using them and it cleared up pretty quickly.

My little girl developed this around end of July and it's only really in the last few weeks that it's started to disappear. The GP did say it usually takes a few months at least to clear up but said not to put anything medicated on it as it can make it worse and to stick with a gentle moisturiser and leave it to go away on its own. I just used Aveeno moisturiser daily and after 4 months it was mostly gone. Having said that it's never been really sore or bothered her so it made sense to just ride it out.

My DD (3.5 years) got this! Just a smallish patch near her mouth and I have no idea how she got it really, but we did stop using cheeky wipes and flannels just in case. Now I blame the change in the weather.

It’s a stubborn bugger. We were prescribed fusidic acid cream, but I credit Aveeno baby moisturiser with clearing it up. We slathered that on her face each time before she left the house, and before bed. I think it took around 3 months to finally go.

Do you not need a barrier cream, to stop the saliva and food irritating it?

And yes, heavy moisturiser cream on her face before going outside. A French friend wouldn’t have let her tot out of the house without first creaming her up.

I’ve had this as an adult and the only thing that shifted it for me was washing my face with African black soap (bought from Amazon)

DD gets this every winter from licking her lips. A thick layer of vaseline really helps, but it's tricky when she's out at school all day 😔. It's really come on with a vengeance today for some reason.
