Gift for neighbour after colicky baby

I'd like to give my neighbour a gift as a thank you for being patient with us and our newborn who has bad reflux and colic. I know for a fact that he can hear her scream and cry during the evening/night, but he still just wished us good luck and congratulated is on her birth. He's a fairly new neighbour so we haven't had the chance to fully get to know him yet, but he's a bit older, has nurses coming over every once in a while and recently got a blue badge for his car. So I'm a bit hesitant to get any sort of alcohol on case he doesn't drink, or can't due to medication etc... I just don't know what to get him, or is a bottle of some kind the best option?
Grateful for any suggestions!

Just some nice biscuits and chocolate? Carers implies that maybe he doesn’t have family so invite him for a cup of tea and a biscuit?

Yes, that's a good idea. Can't go wrong with biscuits and chocolate tbh! I was going to invite him in a bit closer to Christmas so he can meet the one who's possibly keeping him awake at night just as much as she's keeping us up as well😅 Thank you for your suggestion!

Yes definitely invite him in to get to know each other. Noises we heard from our neighbours' children and pets were so much more bearable and even made us smile, knowing the little personalities and quirks behind them.

Tea and nice biscuits. Everyone likes tea and biscuits or will have a house guest who does.

I never buy alcohol because I don’t drink and don’t assume anyone else does.

That's my thoughts as well since I also don't drink. But everyone I've asked around me have all suggested beer, wine, whiskey... So I just wanted some other suggestions. Thank you for your reply!

I don't think you need to get a physical gift, but inviting round for a cuppa and to meet the baby sounds lovely.
If my neighbour had a screaming baby with colic, I'd be wanting to do something to help them not adding to their life by having them get me something.

Yes, nice chocolate biscuits or shortbread in a pretty tin.
if you can catch one of the carers you could ask them, and also about any needs for popping round.
