5.5 months old night wakes

I’m really struggling. My baby is 5.5 months now, and even though I’m trying everything, he still wakes almost every 1 hour at night. He was sleeping for 7 hours straight before 4.5 months.
I’m so exhausted that I feel like crying. I co-sleep sometimes because I’m desperate, but he moves so much and feeds constantly when he’s next to me, so I can’t rest at all.

Daytime timings are actually good — he sleeps about 2.5 hours in total. I’m doing all the routines, the right wake windows, sleep suit + 2.5 tog ( room temperature around 18 to 20c)
He settles himself to sleep during naps and 50 percent of the time for night sleep. But when the night wakings are totally different. He wants help like walking around or nursing to sleep back. He is drooling a lot, so tried paracetamol still no luck.

Any pointers or suggestions would be much appreciated

Any suggestions for an affordable sleep consultant or suggestions for a sleep book. Any help is welcome really 😄

It's really really hard, but so so normal. The very unusual bit was how well he slept before! Mine both woke every 1-1.5 hours until they were about ten months old (apart from a hellish few weeks at seven months when they woke every twenty mins). I bedshared, fed lying down, and just endured until it got easier. It will get easier, so do what you need to to survive for now. And I'd try nurofen rather than Calpol, it's much better pain relief I find.

I know there's guidelines to this but my baby would be cold in just sleepsuit + 2.5 tog at that room temp. She wears a long sleeve vest too

Oh yes, mine too. I would have to add at least two folded cellular blankets on as well.

I will try adding long sleeve vest tonight and see if that helps.

I would, and then just check how their back/chest feels.
