FTM help with baby poo!

Hi all, probable neurotic FTM here but just wanted a second bit of advice.
My newborn (4 weeks today) has been struggling with trapped wind - straining to the point of crying, writhing around in sleep and red in face until she can fart/poo. Sometimes she can do this alone but mostly struggles and wakes herself up at night/ doesn't sleep long stretches. We thought this was just her learning and hoping it will pass as months go on.

However HV said her poos were mucusy, and she also did have an angry rash on her face from weeks 2-3, which has only just cleared up.

Recently she is refluxing a fair bit more. HV suggested I cut out dairy, which I did for 10 days until she was so fussy and angry at the breast that we had to give her a bottle of formula which obviously has dairy in (very frustrating but felt I had no other choice at the time as nipples were in bits) During the 10 days we didn't see much change but her skin has cleared up - unsure if this is related or whether it is coincidental. I know it can take up to a month to see changes.

She can be extremely fussy with feeding, but again, not sure if this is just normal behaviour for a newborn. She has a suspected tongue tie so might be this too.

Have attached a pic of her poo if anyone can help! Just concerned it is CMPA and I'm ignoring it. Happy to go dairy free again but won't see results for a month?

Pic looks normal to me. My EBF DS also has mucusy nappies, I think this is pretty normal. I think for CMPA you’re looking for more consistent/severe symptoms (rash, blood in stool etc). I’ve also wondered myself but I think most of what you describe is normal newborn stuff, especially the grunting/straining, their digestive systems don’t mature for quite a while. Both mine had incidences of blood in nappy which then didn’t recur and GP wasn’t concerned.

My kids had CMPA. Their poo was more mucusy than that and reflux was extreme.

If you cut out dairy again you need to out soya too.
