time to change to crib

our daughter will be 6 months in a few weeks. She isn't sitting up unaided or rolling yet. I am worried about that. she is getting plenty of tummy time.
30min dedicated and at least 15-20min on me or daddy.
She sleeps in a next to me bed.

The problem is we are really struggling for space. we are in a 1 bedroom flat with no prospect of moving for at least anouther year.
the one thing thats good about the next to me bed is it's on wheels so we can move it out of the way.
I've thought about travel cots because they seem mobile but are they good. for long term use?
'can any please recommend.

Thanks

Do you mean a cot or do you live in US?

I mean crib but now I am looking for a wooden crib but a compact space saving one

I have seen some more compact ones. My DS has hated every travel crib he's ever had to sleep in, FYI. They're smaller, the mattress is much much thinner, even the really expensive ones don't compare to a proper crib.

I have no idea of the difference between cot and crib, I have only ever heard crib.

A crib won’t last long, they are usually same as your bedside set up, are shallow and can swing Think ikea do a smaller than average cot. Travel cots tend to be wider and not robust enough for longer term, although you can get proper mattresses

I am thinking to just get her one that is space saving but grows with her. seen one on amazon that converts and is up to 6 years age

We’ve never had issues with either DD sleeping well in a travel cot. Just make sure you get a nice travel mattress to put in it (most don’t come with one). Alternatively you can get space saver cots. Although, if dd isn’t sitting up or rolling, can she not just stay in the next to me? We were moving house when dd turned 7.5 months so we kept her in the next to me until then so that the transition could happen into her own room when we moved. She was sitting at 5.5 months and we never had an issue.

In terms of your baby’s age and not rolling or sitting up, no where near a cause for concern at this stage. I’m sure the NHS website says anything up to 8m is ‘normal’ for learning to sit up. Easier said than done but enjoy being able to put her down in one place for now x

Ime anything that claims to suit a wide age range rarely does anything well!
