How much does your 2.5 year old eat for dinner?

As per the title, really. I know every child is different but just wanting an idea of how much other little ones tend to eat. My DS is 33 months and for dinner tonight he had half a mini Tesco hidden veg pizza, a medium sized potato made into chips and one cherry tomato and 6 pepper sticks on the side (he's not a fan of veggies so we really struggle here). How does this compare to what your little one would eat (quantity wise)?

Some days I think my newly turned 3 yr old won’t stop eating at dinner and other days I swear he licks a chicken nugget and is full. He’s been known to demolish 2 servings of curry and rice, some naan, buttered bread, a yoghurt, a fruit salad and a digestive biscuit, way more than I would eat 🤣

It really depends on what they’ve eaten that day/week for mine. Tonight, my 2.5 year old had half a homemade Yorkshire pudding, 1 carrot stick (under protest), a whole chicken thigh and 2 roast potatoes followed by a bowl of cornflakes and milk. Yesterday, she ate a bowl of mushroom soup and 1 slice of toast, the day before that, a decent sized spaghetti bolognaise (usually followed by cereal and milk). They feel like big portions but my two kids are in preschool 5 days a week and are starving the minute they get home so I try and feed them healthy food and if they like it, they’ll eat loads but if they are a bit meh, it’ll be token bites before declaring they are full.

My 2 year old DD loves pizza so definitely would have finished the whole thing and probably the chips too as it’s very much a prized meal in our house. I’m so impressed yours is eating tomatoes and peppers though! Mine will only eat peas (unless I hide the veg)

There’s so many factors in what kids eat. My two year old is my second so I’m a bit more relaxed as they do eventually improve with their eating as they get older. What’s the worry with yours? Do you think it’s too little/too much?

Mine probably had 3/4 of a kids ikea bowl of spaghetti bolognaise
