How does a big age gap after two close together affect the older children?

We always wanted 3 but had trouble conceiving after two and now we have our third on the way with a big age gap.
DDs will be 7 and 8 when this one is born.
They both seem very excited to be having a baby, this time we’re expecting a boy.
Does anyone have this type of age gap between two older siblings and has it worked well?
The girls don’t get along with each other at all.

I’d be thinking more about the other end - when the older two leave home, and the third becomes an ‘only child’ for several years.

I didn’t mind being an only child, I’m thinking more about the impact of a baby/toddler and younger child on the girls as they grow up not used to the extra noice, toys and baby taking my time/focus. It’s a big change for them.

My older two children are 6 years older than my youngest. They have moved out of home now, so my youngest is an ‘only child’. He loves it, and so do we. My kids have always got along pretty well; the older two have enjoyed teaching their brother things, and my youngest looks up to the older two.
