DD purple lips for ages after swimming

DD aged 8 does 30 minute swimming lessons on a Saturday morning at our local pool.
She has only been going afew weeks and loves doing it, but the last couple of weeks has had blue lips after.
The first time I noticed it was when we got home, and i thought it was because her hair was wet and had also made her top wet too.
Yesterday morning however, straight away when she came out the pool she was shivering and her lips were purple.Even when we got home and I fully dried her hair and changed her clothes, the blue lips didn't disappear until a couple of hours after the end of the swimming lesson!
She is slim but isn't a child who usually feels the cold alot.
Was wanting to get her 4yo sister to start lessons too, but she feels the cold alot worse so not sure now.

I am planning to contact the pool to ask if they can turn the temperature up as I know its often quite cold in there.
Also going to stop washing her hair after and just shower her with hat on then have a warm bath that evening.
Not sure how warm the showers are there but they feel ok.
But wondered if there is also some sort of suit I can get her....it seems more unusual with her age group to not just wear a normal swimsuit though and wondered if this is to do with needing free range of movement when swimming....

Anyone else had similar issues and if so how did you manage it pls?

I’d forgotten that this used to happen to DS after swimming lessons. Only him and not to his older brother. We didn’t do anything to manage it, other than encourage him to change quickly and get warmed up.

If she's slim she probably just doesn't have much fat to insulate her. You need to warm her up from the inside out. So yes, warm shower, through dry off and warm clothing, but I'd plan in a hot chocolate afterwards, with a high energy snack that will generate some heat inside her.

get her to stick her tongue out!! If that’s lovely and pink then sheas justly cold!
I doubt you’ll get the leisure centre to turn the heating up. Get her to have a longer warm shower when she gets out, and dry her hair before going home

They won't turn the heating up. It has got ridiculously expensive to heat pools. Nice warm shower then some thick warm clothes (oodies or similar are great). If you don't have time to dry hair then wrap in a towel to keep it off her neck/back. A hot chocolate and some carbs. Or look for lessons that are held in hotel pools or even better hydrotherapy pools (often in special needs schools) as these are generally warmer.
