Toddler going to bed later than usual due to no more dummy

My son would usually fall asleep by 7:30pm no dramas but now it’s becoming more around 9/9:30pm and he is more needy and constantly calling for me. I’m assuming this is normal due to the big change, but any ideas on how I can get him back to his old sleep routine or is this something that will come with time once he is used to no dummy?

Does he have a cuddly that he's particularly attached to? He'll need something else for comfort to fill the dummy hole.

How long has he not had the dummy for? Does he have another comforter like a teddy or blanket?

@Wherethewildthings@ToKittyornottoKitty yes he has his 2 muslins that he has always had from when he was a baby, he has those with him at night for bed but they have always been with dummy as well. Tonight is only night 3 of no dummy, he is asleep but it is a very long process

It just takes time. You say he’s calling for you, so I assume you aren’t in the room? It’s a big routine change. I’d stay in with him and help settle him til he’s asleep.

We had this same issue a couple of months ago. It just took time... Felt like ages in the moment but was probably only 2-3 weeks and now she's back to normal. We also had a lot of night wakings but that passed quicker, maybe a week or so. I tend to always just ride things out and typically they improve!
