What can 13 month old DD 'give' Daddy for his birthday?

It's DH's birthday soon and I was thinking my one year old DD could make him a card (with my help, of course) by imprinting it with her hand.

It's the kind of present I would love for myself (as it's something one could keep forever), but is it a bit boring?
If so, any other suggestions?

a nice photo and photo frame?
I think the hand print is a lovely idea, though.

I'm making a spoof 'That's Not My Daddy' book for DH's Father's Day gift - based on the neverending 'That's Not My...' board book series. I don't mind if you steal my idea as long as you credit me and include me in your will .

Love the idea of That's not my daddy

another book to do is "My dad"
with photos of the two of them on each page
if you don't know it it goes something like

My dad isn't afraid of anything, even the big bad wolf
He's as strong as a gorrilla
He eats like a horse
He's a brilliant dancer
and ends
with
I love my dad and you know what he loves me to and always will

Flier - thanks for the encouragement of my very simple idea.

MrsThierry and witchnchips - love your ideas. DD loves those touch n feel, "That's Not My ..." series of books.
Mmmm, only sticking point would giving you credit for such originality. Oh, and of course, the time and effort I'll have to dedicate in making it ... unless you can custom make them for sale - now that's a business idea

have you done the hand-print-on-a-mug? DH thinks they're corny but my parents loved theirs

MrsBadger · 04/06/2008 15:04

(I am planning a 'that's not my daddy' book with photos of other family members:
That's not my daddy, her hair is too long... it's Auntie Fiona
That's not my daddy, he's wearing glasses... it's Grandpa etc)

micci25 · 04/06/2008 15:04

for her first fathers day present dd2 got dp a collage of photo's of herself, dd1 and his nieces, although it was mainly of herself. the vain little thing that she is.

i got the photoframe from tescos it was one of those big frames with seperate spaces for little photos.

hotsue · 04/06/2008 15:17

What about a mouse mat with photo of little one one.. think Boots will do them quite cheaply

phlossie · 04/06/2008 16:49

MrsTH - I did that - ending with That's my Daddy - his beard is so fluffy.

If you've got some dosh, I did this with my dcs for their daddy. It is his 30th, though.

MadBadandDangeroustoKnow · 04/06/2008 19:00

My DH has always loved the handprint/paint splodges/(as time goes by) less and less wonky painting on a mug, plate or bowl. Undoubtedly they are corny but they do capture a moment and my DC takes such pride in making them.

WheresTheAuPair · 04/06/2008 19:05

get a blank canvas and print his foot/hand on it- makes a lovely keepsake too! (don't forget to sign & date it)

shelleylou · 04/06/2008 19:15

the blank canvas is a great idea my ds did one for his grandma for her birthday. Made flower petals out of his footprints she thinks its great

MrsThierryHenry · 04/06/2008 21:21

What lovely ideas on this thread - Phlossie, that's such a sweet link you posted.

Badger - love the idea of using family members (though we'll be using hunky celebs in ours - i.e. my daddy's better than George Clooney/ Denzel Washington/ Thierry Henry (yes! even Thierry), etc.

Okay, so the secret's out. I am not. Actually. The real. Mrs Thierry Henry.
