Just discovered my 12 year old son, having dodged the head lice bullet all through elementary school, now has a head HEAVING with them in junior high...and he's passed them on to me and his little sister. 😫😫😫 He's spent several months growing his hair but it might be coming off...his sister and I have long curly hair. I know what to do, but just thought we might be past that stage. At least it's not thread worms I suppose.

Don’t panic!! you don’t need to cut any hair! Get a good nit comb https://ukhealthbeauty.co.uk/head-lice-bug-buster-kit-5-combs-unique-set-to-fight-head-lice-wet-combing-is-recommended-by-the-nhs?srsltid=AfmBOoqXmfXctiAxZGU0PuRHU3ZrhDLc_8p_RFHX37SXtEDIv_-btLZC

Get a good audio book, use loads of conditioner and come as per the instruction leaflet in the box. Combing is the most effective method and works even on curly hair - you just need lots of conditioner…. We also survived junior school only to pick them up at secondary school! I reckon nits are easier to deal with than threadworms because you don’t have to do any extra laundry. Bonus is you will all have silky smooth hair from the combing and the conditioner

I love the slight typo in the title. 'Headslice...' Grin

I feel your pain @RafaFan My 2 have thick curly hair and headlice were a problem for about 6-7 years! (Aged 5 to 11.)The older they get the better it gets, so hold tight. I'm sure it will pass soon ... Smile

Oh God I feel your pain. My DD is 10 and never ever had them up until this year and she's had them twice, which then meant I got them too 😭 we both have thick long hair to our belly buttons 😭

A good nit solution and a comb will do the trick. I do ours then leave it a day and do it again just to make sure

@LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway ha ha, deliberately typo. Forgot to put it in the post...this is what my daughter called them when she got them aged six, during the never to be forgotten "headslice Christmas." She's had them a couple of times before, but my son always avoided them until now. We didn't realise he had them until today, and his head is HEAVING with them. 😬
