Newborn possible honey exposure

I was up giving my 2-week-old a late night feed. I had just eaten yoghurt with honey and blueberries, then kissed my baby on the cheek. My lips, I didn’t realise were still a bit sticky, until they briefly touched her lips. Is there any risk of botulism from this, given that she’s only 2 weeks old?

She'll be absolutely fine.

The risk would be absolutely microscopic. Negligible. Do you feel this anxious about a lot op? Do you feel that perhaps you may need a little support? Congratulations on your beautiful baby, it’s such a whirlwind of a time.

@Concernedkay the tiniest risk and she will be absolutely fine ❤️ I remember this whirlwind bubble time so well where you worry about the tiniest things. Enjoy your gorgeous snuggly newborn!

Don’t worry OP, this will be fine. I remember that 24/7 hypervigilance and that worry, it’s very stressful. Especially when everyone tells you different things!
You’re obviously a lovely Mum and probably have a happy well-fed baby right now 😊

She would need to swallow it. In significant quantity. And the honey would have to be botulism infected (very unlikely if it’s commercial honey, not a jar from uncle Bob’s hives). If you haven’t come down sick with botulism, that’s a pretty good sign it’s not.
