Can't settle 5 month old into daytime naps

Hi all, my little girl is 5 and a half months old. She's a dream, after losing our twin boys at birth nearly two years ago , I feel blessed to have her.

She's been a very easy baby but we transfered her from the beside me bed to the nursery last night. Went really well. She slept through from 8 to 7am.

However I attempted daytime naps today and it wasn't great. She lasted an hour sleepwise. She can roll on her front but not back yet so she kept rolling on her front and was hysterical as she can't get back yet.

Do I persevere or keep her naps in the pram a bit longer. Apologies for the long post. A clueless newbie here 😅

If she is sleeping so well through the night which is fabulous she might not need as much.

I agree.

So sorry about the loss of your twins. This sleep sounds INCREDIBLE to me. My 14 month old still wakes up every 2-3 hours... And my eldest sleeps well now but would only nap in a pram on the move until she was... A year I think? I walked a LOT in that first year.

I remember seeing you in conception and due date threads and pleased you are doing ok.
I would probably give her a couple of nights to get used to the cot at night and try a nap in there again in a few days. It's great she settled so well in there last night but to do naps too might be a bit too much of a change.

My daughter was more independent in night time naps than she was for day time naps so there was a bit of a lag between what she would do at night Vs the day. I chose one nap to protect and would stick with the reliable method of getting her to sleep and then have another nap where I would try to get her to sleep a bit more independently

I wouldn’t say 1 hour naps were that unusual at that age. Mine slept well at night but didn’t sleep for longer than an hour during the day until she was on 2 naps at close to 12 months.

Thanks for all the great advice. It's definitely a learning curve.
