Toddler makes loud repetitive noises all the time

First time mum and would love some advice.

My daughter’s 2 next month. She’s amazing and wonderful. Generally developing totally ‘normally’ (if any such thing) - she walked by 1 and talks a lot (full sentences, lots of pretty complex words, numbers to 10 etc). Sleeps ok ish, loves books and playgrounds, pretty sociable (a bit of scratching at nursery but nothing they’ve worried about) and generally pretty regulated unless tired.

On the flipside - she makes noises almost ALL the time when awake. Lots of chatting, but also endless ‘La la la’ ‘ga ga ga’ ing, sometimes screaching, repeating names over and over again etc. We’ve been on holiday around other toddlers for last couple of weeks and I think that’s made me hyper aware of how loud and monotonous it is - I never thought it was out of the ordinary, but it really has been noticeable at eg dinner or when playing around others.

Sometimes I wonder if she’s sort of trying to sing - and is just happy and wants to let it out?! But other times whether it’s a form of verbal deregulation and I should be thinking more about it. Just wondering whether this is recognisable to anyone else - I can find lots of threads about kids without lots of words who makes similar noises, but none about someone with quite a bit of speech but the noisy chat!

Verbalising turns into narrative be prepared for every inch of their day to be narrated on repeat

Personally I take my hearing aid out pop them on my deaf side....nod and smile

I have one of these! She is 2.5 now and she never stops talking 😅. Think you are definitely more tuned in to noise your own child makes as mine also seems like the loudest in the room everywhere we go. It’s amazing seem them developing so quickly and so well verbally, but I definitely want to put earplugs in sometimes to maintain my sanity 🤣

Sounds like she’s living her best life.

Not saying this is the reason, it is one reason among many perfectly normal ones you’d expect but my first born, a girl hit every milestone on or before you’d expect, did very well at school getting high grades and getting a BSC Hons at uni but she would never shut up. Made this repetitive screech as a child as well as rhythmic movements of her hands. We discovered in her late teens she was high functioning autistic and that was her stims. I’m not saying your child is, I’m just saying that what something very similar was in my child and as a girl, they mask most normal characteristics that get boys diagnosed.

Ah, the BA BA BA BA BA BA BA BA phase. Normal. Loud. Annoying. Nothing you can do about it but distract - and talk to them to get real words working in their heads :)

My little girl heard the word ‘gonorhea’ somewhere and repeated it incessantly for weeks. I think they just like the sound of certain words and noises.
