How to get toddler to stop sucking thumb?

We have tried EVERYTHING it feels like to stop our 2.5 year old stopping sucking their thumb but still nothing works. We have tried painting nails with the stop n grow and alternatives, we’ve tried various thumb sucking gloves, they find a way to get them off. Tried scratch sleeves but still sucks in the day and gets too hot at night. Any bright ideas please?

Why do you want them to stop? It is a comfort to them. Wait until they around 5 and offer them something they really want if they stop.

Because of the dental damage it can do

I tried everything too. Mine is 4y now and still sucking her thumb every minute of the day. I eventually decided to stop tearing my hair out and just let her stop in her own time (though I do tell her to stop every time I see it still). She's just started school so I'm hoping some social pressure might help, but she's still so small and it brings her comfort so I don't hate it. She'll stop by the time her adult teeth come in.

I sucked my thumb into my thirties. Seriously! My parents always talked about my teeth when I was a child but they were never affected. Ironically my sister who never had a dummy or sucked her thumb had to have full braces throughout her teens. Obviously that’s anecdotal but how your daughter sucks her thumb will be key- if she just rests it in her mouth it probably won’t matter. Otherwise most people aren’t like me and stop due to peer pressure at school.

iIf you are concerned about teeth. You can wait until your child gets their second teeth.
Yes one of my children sucked her thumb until 8 and ended up wearing braces but my other child, who didn't suck her thumb also
had braces.
