When does it get better

Hi I have a little boy who is almost 5 months old. I'm a single parent. I have got a 12 year old boy too. I can't remember it being as hard as this. My little one is so clingy and doesn't really like going to anyone else. Also when the afternoon starts he gets cranky most days and cries so much. He cries when I put him down and his new trick is screaming. I struggle to do anything. I know they're bad when they are tiny. But at this ages I thought they start to get better. Any help or advice would be very much appreciated

I would say once they're able to sit up and play a bit it gets slightly easier. I have a 6 year old, 1 year old and newborn and I found 4-8ish months hard because they couldn't sit up, couldn't play, couldn't be left at all and needed 24/7 attention. Once sitting up and then mobile it does become easier!

For my DD it was 8 months, before that was constant struggle, she wanted to be held constantly day and night, screaming all day and night it was rough but at 8 months she turned into such a lovely happy little girl, I don’t know if it’s coincidental but she started crawling and pulling herself up to stand at 8 months too
