Silent reflux and sleeping

My daughter is 5 weeks old and I thought at first she had a bit of colic but now I am more leaning to it being silent reflux. Whenever I try to lay her down flat in her cot at night she either wakes up straight away or after 10/15 minutes and she looks as if she has some milky sick sitting somewhere but she doesn’t actually bring it up, she gets watery eyes and keeps swallowing. I can’t continue holding her all night as it’s not comfy or safe. Has anyone got any tips or gone through similar and what did you do to get your baby to sleep flat in their cot?

Try a dummy and see the doctor to get it medicated.

My son was the same, he had silent reflux and it was related to CMPA. I was breastfeeding and I cut out all dairy and soy from my diet around 6 weeks and he was a different baby after a week. This was against GP advice who just wanted to give anti-reflux meds because they find dairy allergy in BF babies is rare and a dairy free diet can be too hard on mums. From my POV it was such an easy fix, I didn't mind it. We confirmed the dairy allergy at 6 months when weaning, I gave him a teaspoon of yogurt and he vomited for 6 hours straight, we almost ended up in hospital.

If you're formula feeding, you need to speak to your GP and look into prescription formula. About 10% of babies have a dairy allergy.

I would speak to HV about getting a wedge pillow and little blocks to raise cot, we did this for our son and it was a game changer.
