Overreaction?

bit of advice needed, I have one DS age 10. Walking home from school today two of his classmates took a picture of us, laughed at it and then ran off down the road.

its made my son feel awful. I don’t know what to do; text parents or speak to the school? Or is this an overreaction? Thanks in advance

I don’t think it’s an over reaction, those children should learn not to take pictures of people.

Mention it to the school so they are aware and can keep an eye for any other behaviour, they can’t do much about it as it happened outside of school (assuming not on school grounds).

If you know the parents then I would drop them a text without being confrontational. “It looked like they took a picture of us, which they found funny. Maybe we read the situation wrong but x is quite upset as he felt he was being laughed at by his friends and is worried this picture might be shared with others, could you have a chat with x and check that all is okay?”

I understand why your son is upset but this is also a chance to teach him to rise above the stupid behaviour, you can’t control or enforce punishment on every stupid thing other children do

I don’t think it’s ok either and school definitely neex to be made aware.

Thanks for the help, I’ve emailed the school and also text the parents.
