Social anxiety gone after having a child?

Has anyone else experienced this? I find it so bizarre I'm like a different person.

Before having a child if I ever encountered someone I didn't know and had to have a conversation I would get all sweaty,my throat would feel tight,I'd feel internally shaky...

But after my child turned 3 (hes now 4) it's like it's gone... I no longer get those symptoms I can speak freely with strangers I could even argue if someone is being mean to me WHICH I could NEVER do before... (I'd normally just stare at the floor and take it).

I'm unsure if this is a normal thing or if I should be concerned 🤣😅

Maybe it has nothing to do with parenthood and you just outgrew it?

You life has got bigger and the little things that used to be massive somehow has perspective.

I can relate OP. I used to be quite shy, but once I had kids I felt I had something in common with lots of other people, so found it easier to make small talk about kids.

Yes, I'm so happy for you that your anxieties have disappeared 💚
I think it's the power of unconditional love
Since I've had my Children, I converse with folk much more freely, than I would've before

Definitely. I've not completely outgrown it, but where I've had to talk to people for the benefit of my kiddos is a definite improvement on what I was once like. Having something in common (our kids) is a good icebreaker.

You’re putting someone else’s needs before your own so you’ve less time to think about yourself and your worries/ anxieties.
