Reusable cloth nappies on holiday?

My husband and I are going on a UK holiday for two weeks at the end of the month, and are unsure whether we're being silly and impractical thinking we can continue with cloth nappies as normal whilst on holiday.

For context, we're staying in a rented holiday cottage in SW England, which is equipped with a washing machine. Our baby (who'll be 6mo at the time) has had cloth nappies and reusable wipes pretty much her entire life, only using disposables as a back up in the changing bag in case she gets through the 3 or 4 cloth ones I pack for days out.

She has Totsbots nappies which we find super easy to use, and we're used to using them whilst out and about so not worried about the practicalities of that, more just the washing whilst away.

Logic tells me it's no different to being at home, but friends and family keep saying what a hassle it'll be, so looking for the thoughts and opinions of those with experience!

Also as a bonus, if you've travelled abroad with LO in cloth nappies, did that change anything?

Thanks in advance ☺️

If it’s a uk holiday cottage it will be exactly the same as being at home. I would continue with the cloth but take disposables as a backup

I have done it loads of times, I never ever bought disposables so I didn't want to get them for holidays. In hindsight I was kind of over the top and should have been less uptight about it I think, but it was definitely manageable.

I’ve done a week no problem can’t see why 2 would be any difference. And at the end of the day if anything goes wrong you pop to the shop and buy a pack of disposable.

Thank you all! As I thought, no different to at home. It was just family and friends making me second guess with comments "you don't want to be doing all that washing on holiday, surely!" but like you say, we're used to it. I trust them more than disposables not to leak or cause nappy rash, and I think dealing with that would probably be more stressful!

Just didn't want to be taking up valuable space in the car with nappy buckets if the consensus was that it's definitely not with it, as it's gonna be a bit of a squeeze with the pushchair and the dog 😅

We also brought reusables on holiday if at all possible. We found it less stressful because we knew exactly what we were doing with reusables, what fitted baby, etc. It only takes one or two leaks overnight to completely undo the effort saved from using disposables because now baby is up and soaked, you've got the bedding to wash, may or may not have spare bedding for the rest of the night, etc.
