I just want to give him some sporting skills for the future if he needs them, and keep his fitness up.

What makes him tick?

I am completely uninterested in what others can do. Any team sport or competitive sport just isn't my bag

I like running and swimming but only competing against myself. I did used to enjoy trampolining but was never interested in competitions and stopped when that started to be a bit of a focus

I think it's the team element (which is a massive shame), he likes cricket, he's starting hockey and tolerates tennis.

He's good at skiing and surfing but can't do those every weekend can we!

Is there a dry ski slope near to you? He might be able to ski every weekend there Smile

Squash!! Mine absolutely loved it because it was a little unusual!

Mine did fencing for years. It's quite a small sport and very supportive, and he met some brilliant people.

Basketball? I know you say he's not into the team element but my ds hated football and has really found his joy in basketball.

My other son did karate for a while, until brown belt and he also did a stint at kids cross fit, both of which are not team focussed.
