App or website to help me encourage milestones?

My 10 month old has yet to clap and wave even though I sing “if you are happy and you know it”… wave at every opportunity and sing lots of songs but still doesn’t really get what I’m saying.

Is there an app or website that can tell me or show me any exercises or tips to help me help my daughter?

Shes all about crawling and won’t sit still! She gets bored really easily.

If it’s communication that you want to improve then I would look at some of the resources from Speech & Language UK.

It could be though that she’s found a new skill in crawling and is practicing that, how does she score on the 10 month Ages & Stages?

She's 10 months, relax.

Keep playing, singing, talking and modelling actions to her.

Mine would not clap or wave until 15 months. He was busy with other stuff.

Can't think of a website as such. When my eldest was little I went to a group and the lady that that ran it said that lots of patting strengthened the muscles needed to keep hands flat enough for clapping to be comfortable. She said that the order was usually strong patting (she recommended drumming on a plastic tub e.g. washing bowl), doing high fives with both hands (separately first, then together - we called it a high ten) and then clapping follows easily from that.

But, honestly 10 months is still well within normal range. If she's waving she has appropriate control of her arms, and as a competent crawler she will be building strength, control and cross-midline coordination. Relax a bit!

Oh, and songs wise "open them shut them" encourages a lot more in the way of varied hand coordination. Keep up the singing and hand signs, great for all kinds of development

All good advice. Babies usually like to pay out a rhythm on a table. Very simple copying obviously Smile
