Calories intake!

I have 2 boys aged 5 and nearly 9, both are in the 99.9 percentile for height and are slim. They are both extremely active boys and participate in sports 4 times a week and play out pretty much all the time. I'm not at all concerned about their weight but the amount they eat is incredible, way more than me,
a day, sometimes more than their Dad! Apart from it costing me a fortune I wonder whether I should be monitoring their calorie intake and if this is normal?! They both eat 3 meals a day plus a supper of some sort before bed and then snacks throughout the day, usually crackers,(a box lasts a day), bread, fruit, my 9yr old often makes himself a ham sandwich. They eat good meals as I like cooking, we have a meat free week once a month and they eat a lot of fish, mackerel and salmon are staples. Right now it's fine as they are clearly burning what they eat but I'm conscious that a huge appetite could lead to problems as an adult or is this just boys and I should just carry on ensuring they eat as healthy as possible?

It’s boys. Mine have eaten me out of house and home. My youngest cycles to school 5 miles each way and is slim, fit, but is always constantly starving. We have stages of breakfast 🙈 my eldest eats eggs and chicken in quantities I’ve never known. Again, slim and fit but always STARVING.

I don’t have junk food in the house so they will choose to eat good stuff. That for me is how I know it’s need to eat, rather than ‘I fancy X’
