Messy play for 1 year old that eats everything?

My baby has always put absolutely everything in his mouth and no signs of slowing down. I’d love to do more messy play with him, I just did food coloured spaghetti in his baby bath outside and he just ate most of it. What other ideas could I do? Home made play dough is out because it’s too salty for him to eat

Crushed cheerio sand was always a hit.

Google taste safe messy play and there's loads of great ideas out there.

Ah so many ideas we do this all the time with our one year old too.

Cheerios/rice crispies (any cereal really), crushed weetabix to make “soil” for a farm theme messy play, rice with food colouring, yoghurt paint (yoghurt with food colouring), jelly, mash potato, mashed banana etc

Use a wide range of foodstuffs.

Honestly, you don't have to overthink or worry too much. If you're spending lots of time engaging with him and giving him plenty of opportunities to explore new textures and tastes with his hands and his mouth you are doing brilliantly.

I have a background in child development.

I did this with my one year old recently, we had red rice, blue spaghetti, green pasta, different coloured jelly and frozen fruit in the shape of stars which was a particular hit! I’ve take some inspiration from some of these comments as well for the next time!
