Acid reflux or is it normal

Hi I need some advice please.

My son is almost 4 months old and bottle fed.
I’d say 6 out of 8 times a day after he’s had milk, he has milk coming up. It’s not a lot and not projectile vomiting or anything but still it’s there almost every time. Never at night feeds only during the day. Is this acid reflux or is it normal?
how do I know if it’s acid reflux?

He seems normal/happy in himself, puts on weight, sleeps well etc. so I don’t know if he needs Gaviscon.

Thank you in advance.

Bringing up a small amount of milk after feeds is still normal at this age. Most find it stops between 6-12 months.

If he's happy in himself, sleeping well, and growing as he should, he's very unlikely to need medication for it.

Probably a touch of reflux but not all reflux needs to be treated.
Signs that reflux needs treatment are being distressed or difficulty with weight gain.
My daughter was sick 5-10 times every feed and whilst the bringing up milk didn't bother her she also was having silent reflux and that was making her utterly miserable to the point it was impacting her development so despite satisfactory weight gain she actually needed high dose medication which she still needs aged 5!

My friends daughter frequently projectile vomited but was otherwise fine and happy gaining weight really well so didn't need treatment and outgrew it around 6 months.

My sister projectile vomited every feed, at 10 weeks was less than 1lb over birth weight and had thickeners... 80s so no other treatment.

With reflux you need to look at the whole picture.
