Title says it all - I pick her up at half 4 and I keep her out for as long as I can but I’m pregnant and very nauseous! I allow tv but ideally half hour max after nursery because she watches a bit before nursery too (early riser). I suggested paddling pool, walk, building blocks etc, drawing, tonie but no dice. Just moaning she wants to watch something! I have her all day tomorrow and dreading that she will be like this all day and it will just be a battle.

any ideas/ suggestions / wwyd ?!

My 2 older teens had plenty of screen time (TV) when kids, Cbeebies, Baby Einstein, Sing and Sign, Disney etc. it's definitely made things a bit easier.
We also did a lot of playgroups too to balance it.
Now 18 & 19 they both have loads of interests (playing sport, politics, performing arts, writing, crafts, baking etc) and are really interesting young adults. They spend some time on screens now, but not it's balanced.
So all I'm saying is that I personally think screen time can be fine as long as it's fairly educational, and not mindless of trashy (eg a lot of YouTube stuff/ or the mindless videos on social media.

To get through early pregnancy hell it might be best to go with it.

OTOH I have found what works for us is for me to say we need to do something else first, and then TV. Pick a short activity like a game of uno or so on just to get into the new routine and break the habit of instant TV, then when you're feeling better you can go for longer activities like playmobil, going outside, or whatever.

For full days at home I tend to try and keep TV off during what would usually be nursery time, but don't always manage it.
