Carriers/Slings

Not applicable to me as my children are older but do people still use carriers or slings for their babies? Was wondering the other day as I never really see anyone using these anymore, mainly just big prams. I remember when my dd was little people recommended them a lot. Have they gone out of fashion now? I live in a city where you’d think they would be more popular especially on public transport

Not at all, people use them loads. They are a godsend.

It's true I don't see them around in public much. I am in London and most people use Yoyos or Butterfly buggies, or those giant prams which take up the whole buggy space on a bus. I used one with DD2 a lot until she was over a year old as it was easier to get on the tube, but people would comment how heavy she must be. That was 3 years ago.

Yep I’m in London too and never see them, none of the parents and my kids school use them and they’ve been there 7 years always loads of prams at pick up even parents getting the bus one stop bring a pram and I don’t see anyone on the tube or bus with them either!

Oh interesting! I'm Wales and I regularly see everything from newborns to preschoolers being carried.

My DCs are 10, 8 and 5 now, but I used them A LOT when they were all babies and toddlers.
I didn’t really use my pram at all until after the 6 month mark

MochiPie · 12/08/2025 02:04

Yeah it’s a recent thing I’ve noticed no one uses them anymore
