Adult teeth at four years old?

My daughter turns 5 in November - she has recently lost her first tooth (bottom middle) and the one next to it is wobbly - I can see her first adult tooth is already coming through. Every parent I ask seems to have had the first tooth appear around 6 - is this insanely early?? She has quite a small mouth and doesn’t really have gaps between her teeth so apart from anything else I’m wondering where her adult teeth will actually fit!

Anyone else had a real early starter?

It’s earlier than most, yes. When does she next see the dentist? They usually check progression of the teeth, so hopefully can reassure you.

My DD had her first tooth fall out at 4 years 7 months! The other bottom one followed soon after. She had her baby teeth start coming through at 3 months, and all her adult teeth were through by 10. No dentist was ever concerned.

My first baby started teething at six weeks. They’re all different.

There was more than one kid in DD's reception class last year who lost baby teeth/got first adult teeth. My cousins kid was 4 too.

It's on the earlier side but not ridiculously so.

By contrast one of DD's friends turned 6 last week and is a little upset because she's the only one in their friendship group who hasn't lost a tooth yet!

Did she get her baby teeth early as well? DD1 didnt get her first tooth until she was 12.5months. The dentist said its likely she will lose them late as well. Presumably the opposite is true also that if you have an early teether, then the big ones come through early as well.

Early teether in our house - 8 teeth at 6.5 months, 16 before 12 months, final 4 before 2nd birthday. Lost first tooth before they turned 5 and had all adult teeth except wisdom teeth just after 8th birthday.

My dc got their baby teeth late and their first few adult teeth early for some reason, after their first couple the rest came in slowly enough though. They did all need braces, but that was more to do with the fact that they had dh's bigish teeth and my smallish mouth. 🙄

Eldest lost her 1st tooth age 4. At 7 has lost 8 to date. If you're worried go to the dentist. Everyone develops at different paces.

I know a 3.5 year old with an adult tooth coming through, and wobbly baby tooth. All legit, checked by a dentist.
