Baby Vaccinations

Hi,

My baby has received his invite for his first set of vaccines which should be when he is 8 weeks but the date is when he will be 7 weeks and 6 days - is this ok?

Can I still give him calpol as it suggests I do this on the letter but Calpol says it is for 2 months and up?

Thanks

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Springadorable · 20/07/2025 21:15

Yes. Totally fine. Nothing is going to change overnight.

Purplerain1144 · 20/07/2025 21:15

It has to be from 8 weeks they aren't licensed before that. You'll need to rebook. The calpol is fine to give

Pomer0l · 20/07/2025 21:16

It’s only one day but it does need to be from 8 weeks unfortunately due to licensing

You need to rebook. I had a Receptionist book my DC's two days earlier than the scheduled time, insist it was fine when I called to query - then turned up at the appointment and the nurse couldn't do them. Had to rebook for two days later and go again!

DinosandRegrets678 · 20/07/2025 21:40

Annoyingly you'll probably have to rebook. My DS ended up getting his vaccines at 9.5 weeks because of a similar situation

yfshjj · 20/07/2025 22:50

Yeah agree to re book. I took my son in as I didn't know and they made me come back! They'd made the appointment for me too, annoyingly

mumtobe2025 · 21/07/2025 21:30

Thanks all! called today and they said they could do it so I guess I'll go to the appointment and see what happens!

This is incorrect, please don’t just guess at things like this.

The PGD states the child needs to be 8 weeks or more. So even if 7 weeks and 6 days, we can’t administer, we would have to rebook for the next day.

MarioLink · 22/07/2025 12:47

I would rebook the next day or up to a week later as licencing is very strict and the nurse would be giving them "off-licence" which I doubt they will be happy to do.

You're right. I messed up there. Apologies.

They’re acting incorrectly if they give.
Practice nurse.
