my baby only just turned 7 months old. he’s got this on his gums and is in really bad pain. he’s had painful gums for months and usually will not let me look at them. i checked them just not and it had this hole looking thing, is that a tooth or something to be concerned about?

More than likely it’s a tooth DS had something similar but was a bit longer and then 2 teeth popped out not too long after.

My DD had those ‘holes’ when about to have teeth.

Tooth. Put a chewy teether in the fridge for him. They also often seem to get runny nappies when teething, maybe cos of the increased drool? So just something else not to worry about if you notice it!

They're on the way. The ashton and parsons teething gel is better than the bonjela for the pain. Or the powder.

he has been using it for a while but never seems to help, it works for around 10 mins max haha. tried all of the froxen food dummy things and teething toys but he always decides my chin is the only thing that works haha. guess it’s just a waiting game trying to comfort him.

i assume this will affect his sleeping too. the last couple of weeks have been a struggle. when he finally gets to sleep he sleeps amazingly however getting him to sleep takes hours at the moment and i’m knackered. any advice on this? :)

For DS they definitely annoyed him more and more as the day went on. Our holes appeared on the Tuesday and by Friday night we had to give him calpol as he was just crying in pain. By Saturday night/Sunday morning they were cut through and sleep went back to normal. For DS he fell asleep fine but instead of sleeping through he was waking every 3 hours or so.

Do you give him painkillers as well? If you've used gels on yourself they don't last long. When my wisdom teeth started to come I had every sympathy for babies me.

Cold stuff to chew on, gels and painkillers until it's through. Then again and again until they're all through.

But hey, if the chin works.... Grin
