8 month old won’t touch certain finger foods..

My DD is 8 months old and from the beginning of weaning, she’s never been into finger food.
So I gave her homemade purées. She took to them really well and can take different textures and eats what we are eating as long as it’s cut up small.

But anytime I give her pancakes, toast, Brocolli, any veg finger food… she’ll try abit and throws it on the floor. Literally after one bite and if I try giving it back to her, she gets annoyed.

She’ll have melts stick and wafers fine though and fruits in the those feeder thing so she’s not lazy.

I wish I could just give her some toast with various toppings or pancakes in the morning but nope I have to spoon feed or or pre load a spoon.

When will she start eating and having a go at Brocolli or toast? Am I expecting too much?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Mine threw everything on the floor until they were about 15 months and then suddenly started eating! I hated food weaning so much by the end. Everyone else seemed to think it was a wonderful experience, introducing their child to food, but it was definitely not for me!

Just keep putting a tiny bit in front of her and one day it will just click, that was my experience anyway.

Food before one is just for fun, don’t worry at all. They’ll get the hang of it.

Eh? I actually did acknowledge her by giving her a thumbs up to her reply as a thank you. There’s nothing to reply to as that’s her experience and one experience.. I wanted varied responses.

What a strange reaction…but expect nothing less from a poster like you.
