Please help, my 1 year old constantly keeps taking her arms out of the straps on her pram, I’ve tightened them as tight as I can but she knows how to slip them out, we were out yesterday and managed to get both arms out and was trying to climb to stand up, of course I watch her constantly and even had to turn the seat to face me as it was continuous. She loves world facing but I don’t know how to make it safer, has anyone been through this? She also does it in her high chair but I only put her in there for meals where I’m with her constantly so that’s not too much of an issue.

Hi OP, how old is she exactly? 1 as in 13 months or almost 2? That would affect what I would do.

Separate harness that does up at the back, like a set of reins, clipped onto the pram harness.

Are her legs not strapped in? I'd just let her have her arms out. Tighten the straps at the bottom of they're loose enough that she can stand up.

I'd also turn her parent facing, safer and better for communication/developing speech etc.

I thought about this but aren’t all the straps on the reins a strangulation risk?

The part that straps her legs is attached to the arms so it’s as tight as can be but once her arms are out she is able to wiggle her body to stand up

There is a clip you can get to hold the top of the straps together so they can't get their arms out.

But I would have her parent facing just in case of any safety issues with that (also standing and choking if she ever snacks in the buggy).

Ah okay so still quite little 😊
Back to parent facing then, and each and every time she does it, pram stops, sharp stern "no" from you and back on go the straps.
