Easiest to use baby carriers?

Every thread about 2nd babies seems to recommend putting them in a sling or baby carrier but I tried a lot of them with my first and just couldn’t get on with them. I am so uncoordinated and just found getting the baby in and doing up all the buckles too hard, especially when sleep deprived. I even went to a sling library but just came away in tears as I couldn’t get the hang of it.

I might have another go this time but was wondering which are the easiest to fit? I preferred the Baby Bjorn style where it’s fitted to the parent first but didn’t end up using it much after reading the one we had might not be hip friendly. Are there any others in a similar style I could try? Something suitable from about 6 weeks would be great (I’ll go easy on myself after my C-section) but not a stretchy wrap as I don’t think I have any chance of getting one of those on!

I loved a ring sling, I’ll try and find a picture. Ergo baby maybe? Pop it on like a jumper, baby in one side, pop the other bit of fabric over them, adjust legs, pull fabric below rings. Adjust as needed to tighten if need be as you go about your day. Both of mine slept in it.

We've used our carrier for years across both kids, we use the babybjorn one air. I also could never get hang of the wrap type ones, although my dh did. Ds is a very huge 18mo and he still goes in it everyday.

It's just one buckle around your waist and then you put the kid in and then one clicky connection.

I think it has a minimum weight but ds was over it well before 6 weeks.

This is like the one I had given to me by a friend. I didn’t use the newborn wrap on top, DS was tiny at birth and I had a very complicated section so I used a stretchy wrap one to start then this one once he was bigger and I was stronger. Ring slings are brilliant if more than one person is using it. DH is 9 inches taller than me and much broader so we liked that it was so flexible and both used it loads until he was too heavy then swapped to a sturdier clip one which could be front facing as well. I can’t imagine not using a carrier, with my second it was even more convenient as it was hands free and I could just stick him on then run around with my older one.

First one was boba bliss as DS was tiny, then isara the one. Loved both!

The ergobaby embrace is very simple and great for newborns. I upgraded to the ergobaby omni 360 as baby got bigger.

Both are easy to get on, but the embrace is super simple.

Pond and palm Mai Thai style carriers are AMAZING! So easy to tie no buckles at all and suitable from birth to about 2years and they are quite cheap you can pick up a used one from vinted for about £10 look on you tube how to tie it it's super easy

Tula is excellent. I also like the Close Caboo for newborn stage with both, but the Tula is brilliant.

The simplest is a ring sling, literally pop baby in, adjust the tightness and you’re done. Have a practice at a sling library to make sure you’ve got it on safely.
