My nearly 2 year old currently sleeps in a cot in our room, and during the night will wake up and come into our bed. She takes all her naps in her cot in our room, but i’m pregnant with baby no.2 due in December, so we’re trying to transition her into her own room. We got her a floor bed and she enjoys reading in there and playing on it, but she refuses to sleep in there. Tried napping her in there this weekend and she screams and cries until i take her into our room. Does anyone have any tips please?

Moving from a cot to a bed and from your room to her own room is too much in one go. Just change one at a time.

Either put the cot in her room or the floor bed in your room.

I think the cot in her own room would be the easier switch. If she likes her cot there is no need for her to move to a bed yet.

If he played until midnight for the first night or two, fine. The idea was get him used to it, make it his space. After that I set a routine. Bath book teeth milk book and one sensory calming video and he now just goes to bed. If this doesn't work get a chair and sit outside the baby gate, on the other side of the gate so she can see you, some earplugs, and read. No talking, no reactions, no soothing (you're already soothing by being there) make it silent and as boring as possible until she gives up and sleeps safe in the knowledge you're there. I didn't have to do that part but i would have
