Worried about milestones

My LO is 9.5 months (but 8.5 months corrected as came at 35+4) and I’m getting increasingly worried about their development. She always seemed to let milestones on time or very slightly behind so it’s never bothered me before but the gap between her and my friends babies seems to be getting wider and wider.

I work in a school so I know that all children develop at their own pace and k honestly couldn’t tell you out of the children I’ve taught who walked/crawled/spoke first but it just feels so different when it’s your own baby.

She very rarely babbles, if she does it’s simply a ‘ga’ or ‘mmmla’. There is no sign of crawling, getting into sitting herself, she will pull herself up but only on me. All she wants to do is walk so we spend the majority of our day walking around.

I talk to her literally all day every single day and have done since she was tiny. We read, sing and even sign a lot of the day (I am makaton trained)

Has anyone else felt in the same position? I just want her to be healthy and happy 💔

I have a 9 month old too. Isn’t it a bit early to say she isn’t reaching milestones? As you say every child is different. Could you review your position at 12 months and then see where she’s at? Some kids don’t crawl (as you know) and just shuffle to going straight to walking. These things may come all at once and then you were unnecessarily worrying.
I know, easy for me to say and much harder when it’s your own. X

My 11 month old doesn't crawl, pull up, walk, bum shuffle etc. just rolls and pivots his way around, it's a nightmare. He was late to sitting too, one day deciding to sit with a very straight back and play with hands at chest level.

He also failed the communication part of the 10 month checks (which they did just after he turned 9 months) 2 days later he was producing all sorts of ga go da nonsense. The health visitor offered to refer him to audiology, he is already seeing the physio.

That said his fine motor skills are and have always been very advanced, today he removed a plastic stick from his ball pool I struggled to get in.

It's tough, but this time will pass. And yes it is easy for someone not in this position to say.

My son crawled just after 9 months, I'd say 8.5m is still quite early. I know baby wants to walk but encourage as much tummy time as you can go try to help with crawling. Babbling may have stopped while she concentrates on other things such as walking. Nothing you've said sounds concerning yet although I know it's hard when you have others to compare to, if baby is the same at 12 months then I would bring it up with the health visitor but definitely try to relax and enjoy baby for now x

I never crawled apparently, went straight to walking, so many babies skip it

My 33 weekers were over 1 before they even thought about crawling. I think it's a bit early for you to start worrying here. The broad age range for milestones is broad for good reason.
