Legoland Reserve & Ride worth it?

Anyone been to Legoland recently? Just trying to work out whether reserve & ride option to beat queues is a good idea. We're going on Monday with a very impatient and high-energy 3-yr old and a teething 6-month old. I guess it's still term-time but no guarantees it won't be totally heaving right?

Pray for me! 😂

I found that lots of the rides still involved queuing even when you used the pass! Submarine for example, pass just gets you to the front ish bit but still had to wait nearly 20 minutes! Some rides it literally gets you right the front like the coastguard HQ but others like the sky lion, the ninjago one and fairy brook it just bypassed a bit of the queue.

Aslican · 24/06/2025 14:14

I would definitely recommend it. You don’t need the most expensive option. The middle option is fine.

Unsure4589 · 24/06/2025 20:43

Thanks! As it's her birthday and I'm generally exhausted atm, we might just splurge on the expensive one and be done with it. She's only just over 90cm in shoes so there's a limited number of rides she can go on. Just this fact will definitely piss her off, so I don't want to add massive queues on top!

We went last Monday on a hot sunny day and didn't need a queue jump pass at all. We did queue for 25 mins for the coastguard boats but we used the time to eat icecreams! As the afternoon wore on the log flume queue was big - but you can buy individual queue jump tickets for that for £6 per person so that's what we did for that one.

However my kids are older - 10 & 5 - so they maybe have more patience for queueing. And now I think if it, there weren't loads of older kids there, but lots of preschoolers, so maybe the bigger rides weren't so busy.

SkatusBoardus · 24/06/2025 20:51

Make sure you use the preschooler ticket option so either she or a parents goes free (I can't remember which way round it is,)
And pay with clubcard vouchers if you can - turns it into a bargain day out & then you don't mind splurging on expensive ice creams etc!

NameChange30 · 24/06/2025 20:57

I went with my kids on Friday and the queues were quite long, we had an Access Card which allowed us to fast track and it was great. As PP said we still had to queue a bit but it saved us loads of time.

I would have thought Mondays wouldn't be so busy so you might be ok to get fast track for individual rides if the queues are long.

The food is overpriced and poor quality so if you can face taking a picnic (I realise it's extra effort when trying to get out of the door with little ones) I'd recommend that.

YY! It's only £29 for parent and preschooler!

I don't think you'll need it on Monday. If you have 2 adults, walk through mini land, you can look at it later, head to fire engines and then coast guards as these both get long queues. If just 1 adult then straight to coastguards as the baby can't go on the fire engines.
Worth getting the app and checking height limits of the rides - lots are from 90cm, a few are higher.
Have a great day!

Vitrolinsanity · 24/06/2025 21:08

Many years ago when we went to Waspland with a little boy that could not queue, yes. You do still need to plan ahead to beat the queue on the most popular rides.

I think we must have needed to wear bands or passes because on the way up the hill on the way out, a woman berated me all the way about being an entitled queue dodger. That was a good end to a day I’d never repeat with a gun at my head.

QuaintGreenFawn · 24/06/2025 21:09

PS you get completely soaked on the log flume!

Yup, which is brilliant on a very hot day! Very refreshing and we dried off quickly. But on a colder day you'd probably want to wear a poncho or have a dry set of clothes to change into afterwards.

Unsure4589 · 25/06/2025 09:42

Weather forecast very hot for Monday, so reserve and ride it is! Good tips about the log flume! I think it will be worth a go (or even two if we need to cool down).

Thanks @NameChange30 for the tip about the food. It enrages me paying £££ for shit food so we'll do packed lunch. No idea why places like this don't just lay on decent food and charge a small fortune for that instead. People would pay it!

👍

To warn you about the log flume - my 4yo loved it but she was a bit scared when it came to the drop, so your 3yo might need a bit of reassurance.

There is actually a water play area in the Duplo section, but annoyingly it was closed when we went last week, so it might still be closed next week. Maybe they only open it at weekends and in the school summer holidays.

i think Dragon's Apprentice is a great ride for 3yos although it was closed when we went.

There should still be lots of other fun rides she will enjoy though.

NameChange30 · 25/06/2025 11:08

Just saw this on the FB page - I was right about water play only at weekends and in school holidays. It's a real shame they haven't opened it earlier and on weekdays, given how hot it has been.

From FB:

It's official! Drench Towers and Splash Safari are opening for summer VERY soon! 🏄‍♀️🦓💦

Get ready to splash on the 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th July & 19th July – 3rd Sept 2025! 😍

UpMyself · 25/06/2025 11:11

It's during term time so the queues won't be bad. Your 3-yr old will love it.
Take pac-a-macs, drinks and snacks.

Oh no! How stupid of them not to open it in this heat!

There's probably some reason, and if it's safety, then it has to be done.
Pity they couldn't do it when it wasn't the busy season.

It'll be financial, of course. Presumably requires a lot of water and extra staff to operate and supervise.

BertieBotts · 25/06/2025 17:24

If you get the app it shows you live queue times when you're in the park (annoyingly it won't show you when you're not there!) Put this on whoever's phone has the most reliable battery, or stick it on both but only open it on one at a time.

What I did when we went with DS1 who was about 11/12 but has ADHD which meant that at the time he would get massive anxiety about decisions and struggled to wait in long queues. And DS2 who was a toddler, was go through the website and note down which rides DS2 was tall/old enough to ride and organise these by section, as well as noting down sections which are indoors or involved water so would be good for a break or to cool down.

On the day we started out by just meandering and thinking we'd do whatever seemed fun but while we went on a couple of things, this turned into a bit of a nightmare with a lot of walking around in circles and starting to queue for things and then giving up and we all got frazzled and decided to stop for lunch. After lunch, I got my list out and cross referenced it with the app and just went for the combo > not too long a wait + nearbyish + suitable on the list - and it worked MUCH better, we went on several things, a few of them several times and ended up chilling in the Duplo play zone for ages at the end. Second half of the day was a total success. I would do the same again.

Also, don't start at the front of the park. Start at one of the further away sections and work your way around. Most people start at the front and work their way around in a circle so if you follow this crowd you will hit queues all day. Sometimes (not guaranteed if it's busier) if you're going in a different direction you'll miss the rush.
