Holiday coach transfer with a baby

Has anyone got any experience of a coach transfer with a baby? We are looking at a 90 minute coach transfer with a 6/7 month old. Car seats are not needed for the journey but this worries me a little. Has anyone any experience with this? Is 90 minutes too long?

We preferred not to do this when our kids were little. If there was no car seats we weren't happy. We did one when our eldest was about 18 months old and sat him on a booster seat in the coach, but we were quite uncomfortable so didn't do it again. We hired a car and car seats the next time. (Then didn't go abroad much - we did one trip with trains and buses. The next time youngest was 6 and booster seat age - we had the backpack booster seat )

We took our car seats as additional luggage.

Were you able to use them on a coach?

We always just skipped the transfers and got a taxi.

We just hired a car with a car seat fitted or got taxis with car seats

The 60/70mins is the length of the journey, but you could be waiting on the coach a good half an hour before you leave the airport as the coach will potentially be waiting for other flights that have landed too. With a baby I would not want to spend all that time so would get a taxi.

If you contact your holiday company you can pay a bit more to get a private transfer. Less time on the bus going round 12 other hotels to drop off/pick up.

Usually not as most UK car seats do not fasten with a 2 point seatbelt. I agree with the apps about getting a private transfer. Bringing your own car seats is the safest option although some transfer companies might offer them.

We wouldn’t take a coach with our baby. We hire cars or use pre booked taxis that have car seats.

This totally.

Thanks everyone. You’ve solidified my thoughts! I wanted to do a private transfer.
