Good present for a 5 year old boy?

My daughter has been invited to a birthday party for a class friend. It's actually the first boys party she's been to. I don't know what he likes.

Trying to find a nice present on around a £10 budget. I've seen the Pop Up Pirate game, thought this would be a good one as it's not targeting a specific interest and I always like it when people buy games for my little one. Do you think this would be a good option for a 5 year old boy?

Can you ask his parent what he likes?

Small lego set usually around £9

We received a kite that folds up into a small bag and is fantastic. Pocket kite. Or a ‘learn to draw’ book. Or anything at all that your little girl likes - they’re not very different at 5! A mixture of craft materials (patterned tape, stencils, fancy pens, stickers).

I think he’s probably going to grow out of pop up pirates quite soon.

I tend to get the Galt science kits for my daughter's male classmates that age. They're usually around £10 on Amazon. Or LEGO as PP said.

Just stick to books, better for the everyone and the environment.

Don’t get a small Lego set, we’ve had some many of these - it’s a classic party gift.

My three year old had pop up pirate this year, so perhaps a bit on the young side. You can often find bop it for around £10 on Amazon, or Dobble perhaps?

How about a book like Space Pirate Bears?
