Is this too much for a 4 year old?

4 yr old DD does swimming, gymnastics and has asked to start tennis after doing a trial session. She’s not particularly sporty so she more enjoys these as the enjoys them if that makes sense.

Shes pre school - not 5 until autumn and I’m not sure if tennis seems a lot on top of swimming and gymnastics?

My old DC hates clubs so this is new and so I’m just not sure what’s usual?!

Probably not too much now, however, if it’s after school as opposed to at the weekend then it may be too much when she’s in reception. I also think it’s easier to add something later if she’s coping ok than have to scale back and drop an activity she likes because it’s making her overtired and ratty. Also I know Andy Murray started at age 3 but your more average kid doesn’t have the hand eye coordination to get anywhere with tennis until more like age 6. Although that’s not necessarily a big deal if she’s enjoying it and exercising. Personally I think I’d wait and start next spring once she’s done the first term of school. But you know her best!

@JellyAnd its quite a long session - 1.5 hours after preschool in the week! She has no hand eye coordination atm bless her! But she just enjoys the games and social part of it! Gymnastics I see potential tennis not so sure lol!

I don't think it's too much unless she's really tired or upset by it. I think it may be too much once she starts school, but that's not now!
